grand simplicity !! 3/6/2023

 Wow. Crazy week. Let me tell you some stories :)


This little old lady came to church in a bright orange jumpsuit and had me touch the squishy lump on her back. At first I was disturbed, then she looked me in the eye and told me it was a sugar glider. And then she pulled it out of her shirt in the middle of the chapel. So then I was a different kind of disturbed. Really nice lady though!

Also, this week I got to go on exchanges to Peterstown!! I got to see so many of my favorite people, it was so much fun! I saw Brother Mann and he told me that he almost got killed by a falling tree that day, and the fact that he's still alive was evidence that God is looking out for him. If anyone can see the hand of the Lord it's Brother Mann :)

Another super exciting thing- we had a member bring his friend, Kai, to church this week! Kai is so cool. He's here on a student visa and he wasn't raised with a Christian background, but he was so open and willing to learn! The amount of faith he has is seriously so amazing to me! He came to a church activity that night and we were able to teach him about God and our relationship with him. It was one of the coolest lessons I've had on my mission- seeing someone start to understand that they have a Heavenly Father that loves them. Pretty amazing. 

In that moment I realized the power of a simple testimony. God doesn't need us to be so elaborate! I think some of His happiest moments are when we struggle through a scripture we don't know how to pronounce, or when we bow our head to say a simple prayer. Because we're trying :) God loves our learning! And watching that on my mission has been one of my favorite parts, too :)

In my mission the departing missionaries are asked to leave a written testimony before they fly home, and I've been procrastinating writing mine for some time now. It just feels so final! And I feel like I need to leave some grand testimony that blows everyone's mind away, but then I realized that the most grand thing I can say is that Jesus is real. 

That simple truth is the most grand of all. It's the most powerful testimony I can leave, and I am ETERNALLY grateful for my mission for teaching me that. 

Jesus is real, yall. I've found Him these last 18 months. And I love Him more than I knew I was capable of loving. I can't wait to see you soon and talk more about it :)

  HI EVERYONE!!  This week was super good, other than the two times we got flashed :/ But it's okay, our neighbor has curtains now! But you wanna hear something crazy?? I was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago today. That blows my mind. It has been the shortest, craziest, hardest, longest, best year of my life. And I never want it to end. I can't even begin to describe the joy I have found in serving my Savior over the last year. I'm so grateful for the change that has come in this time. In the last year I have learned so much about Jesus Christ- I've learned things I wouldn't have learned any other way. There is nowhere else I would rather be right now. But I don't want to give Jesus Christ just 18 months, I want to give Him my life!!   Hey hey party people! Hope you had another amazing week! This week we did a lot of knocking! And one day the craziest thing happened... we looked back and saw a lady going door to door, warning all of her neighbors not to listen to us. It was crazy! I realized how hard Satan is working to oppose this work! But I also know that God is working harder :) With all the rejection in our finding, we've also seen some amazing miracles! We met a guy this week who was SO prepared for the gospel! He was raised in a very strong faith, but he doesn't have a Christian background. What we taught him about the Book of Mormon opened his mind to Jesus Christ and it was so amazing! I'm so thankful God let me see that miracle! I've felt a LOT of opposition in this area, but I've also seen some amazing miracles. I've felt strength beyond my own pushing me forward when it's hard. I learned something about doing things cheerfully this week. I had this scripture come to me on one...

  Hey yall!! Hope you're having an AMAZING day so far! And if it's not amazing yet then I hope you go change that :) You guys wanna know what my weekly goal was this week?? To FAIL!  And before you think I'm just giving up, hear me out real quick- I don't want to be controlled by a fear of failure!! I want to go forward with faith! And I want to ALWAYS try- even if I fail the first couple times :) And yall, I did so good at this goal! The week was full of MANY fails, hahaha. But for real, as soon as I accepted that failure was a part of living I became so much more excited to try new things and to stretch myself! So that's been a party :) And I learned something about failure and success last pday- we went hiking through a cave! And that is the first time I really experienced true darkness. The whole time into the cave all I could think about was how much further we were getting from the light... and how hard it would be to get out. Seriously yall, it was an intense...
