Testimony & Conversion 2/27/23

 Heyyy everybody!! Hope it's been the best day :)


This week has been absolutely CRAZY for us- it's seriously been nonstop meetings and driving, but somehow in the midst of that we still fit in so much missionary work :) 

I've started learning that every single moment can be a missionary opportunity, no matter where you are or who you're with, as long as you are pointing people to Jesus Christ in your words or actions or presence. And because I love missionary work so much, that has helped me to enjoy every day even more! No matter how busy and crazy it might feel.

This week we were able to teach some of the coolest lessons, we taught the restoration to a family who thought they knew our whole message better than us, but as soon as we started teaching and the spirit came in they felt it. And they listened. And they decided to act on it. It was pretty amazing to witness :) 

That experience made me reflect on some of my other experiences over the last 18 months. There have been so many times that I KNEW the spirit had touched people, and I knew that they knew we were teaching the truth. Yet they would walk away. They would reject it. And I never understood why in the world they would do that! But I learned something this week- the power of testimony and conversion.

I read a talk where Elder Bednar said, "A testimony is a gift from God and is available to all of His children... Conversion is an offering of self, of love, and of loyalty we give to God in gratitude for the gift of testimony."

So while some people recieve a testimony, it doesn't necessarily mean they will choose to change because of it. 

I've been so lucky on my mission to recieve a witness of so many things- Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, the Plan of Salvation, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and so much more! Knowledge of these truths have created my most valued possession- my testimony!! 

I'm so grateful for that testimony. I wouldn't give it up for the world!

And I love my Savior too much to not follow Him. For the gift of His Atonement I will give Him my heart

  HI EVERYONE!!  This week was super good, other than the two times we got flashed :/ But it's okay, our neighbor has curtains now! But you wanna hear something crazy?? I was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago today. That blows my mind. It has been the shortest, craziest, hardest, longest, best year of my life. And I never want it to end. I can't even begin to describe the joy I have found in serving my Savior over the last year. I'm so grateful for the change that has come in this time. In the last year I have learned so much about Jesus Christ- I've learned things I wouldn't have learned any other way. There is nowhere else I would rather be right now. But I don't want to give Jesus Christ just 18 months, I want to give Him my life!!   Hey hey party people! Hope you had another amazing week! This week we did a lot of knocking! And one day the craziest thing happened... we looked back and saw a lady going door to door, warning all of her neighbors not to listen to us. It was crazy! I realized how hard Satan is working to oppose this work! But I also know that God is working harder :) With all the rejection in our finding, we've also seen some amazing miracles! We met a guy this week who was SO prepared for the gospel! He was raised in a very strong faith, but he doesn't have a Christian background. What we taught him about the Book of Mormon opened his mind to Jesus Christ and it was so amazing! I'm so thankful God let me see that miracle! I've felt a LOT of opposition in this area, but I've also seen some amazing miracles. I've felt strength beyond my own pushing me forward when it's hard.   Hey everyone! Fun fact, this is the third weekly email I have written today, and every single one of them has deleted. So if this one doesn't work I'm giving up, hahaha. But this week has been super good! We got to do a lot of knocking, with varying levels of success. The ones that don't work out are usually pretty exciting, though! We had a fully nude man come to the door and say "I'm neked! Fixin to take a bath! Come back later." It might be a little awkward to come back another time, but hey! I can be awkward for Jesus :) We met some other people while knocking who were SUPER interested! One lady had actually read the Book of Mormon before and she LOVED it! She literally jumped for joy, hahaha. Her and her sister came to church with us yesterday and it was an absolute party!! They brought a 2 year old with them, and there are definitely not that many kids in our branch... so people weren't quite sure how to respond to a little boy running up and down ...
