fight for your conversion 1/16/2023

 Ok yall- not that I'm counting down or anything, but I realized this week that I have 2 months left. That's it. And I have so many mixed feelings about it.


First off, I know it's all okay because you don't stop being a disciple when you take of the tag. But I've been reflecting a lot this week about my mission story and the things I've learned. So take a trip down memory lane with me, will ya??

I remember being 2 months into the field- feeling like I hadn't even made a dent! It was all so new, and the future felt so open! I had a whole book of empty pages in front of me! And now my book is coming to a close. The stories of my mission are mostly written. I'm on the final pages now

I studied the stories of Alma the Younger, Peter, and the Wiseman this week. Their stories differ wildly- Alma, a boy who discovers repentance and changes from wicked to righteous. Peter, an apostle who learns to be humble and faithful because he loves the Savior so passionately. The wisemen, scholars who spend years seeking Jesus- and rejoicing when they found Him.

 I saw myself in each story I read- and I saw the experiences of my mission. And amid all these scriptures I found one common theme: CONVERSION. Lasting change :)

As they each let Christ into their story, they were changed. And you know why the change stuck?? Because of how they lived their life every day after that. Being on the final pages doesn't mean it's over. Each page counts! Lasting conversion comes from our commitment to live EACH DAY out of love for the Savior. 

So I decided that even while my book is coming to a close, I'm going to work my hardest to keep the change I've found on my mission. To fight for my conversion- every single day.

  HI EVERYONE!!  This week was super good, other than the two times we got flashed :/ But it's okay, our neighbor has curtains now! But you wanna hear something crazy?? I was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago today. That blows my mind. It has been the shortest, craziest, hardest, longest, best year of my life. And I never want it to end. I can't even begin to describe the joy I have found in serving my Savior over the last year. I'm so grateful for the change that has come in this time. In the last year I have learned so much about Jesus Christ- I've learned things I wouldn't have learned any other way. There is nowhere else I would rather be right now. But I don't want to give Jesus Christ just 18 months, I want to give Him my life!!   Hey hey party people! Hope you had another amazing week! This week we did a lot of knocking! And one day the craziest thing happened... we looked back and saw a lady going door to door, warning all of her neighbors not to listen to us. It was crazy! I realized how hard Satan is working to oppose this work! But I also know that God is working harder :) With all the rejection in our finding, we've also seen some amazing miracles! We met a guy this week who was SO prepared for the gospel! He was raised in a very strong faith, but he doesn't have a Christian background. What we taught him about the Book of Mormon opened his mind to Jesus Christ and it was so amazing! I'm so thankful God let me see that miracle! I've felt a LOT of opposition in this area, but I've also seen some amazing miracles. I've felt strength beyond my own pushing me forward when it's hard.   Hey yall!! Hope you're having an AMAZING day so far! And if it's not amazing yet then I hope you go change that :) You guys wanna know what my weekly goal was this week?? To FAIL!  And before you think I'm just giving up, hear me out real quick- I don't want to be controlled by a fear of failure!! I want to go forward with faith! And I want to ALWAYS try- even if I fail the first couple times :) And yall, I did so good at this goal! The week was full of MANY fails, hahaha. But for real, as soon as I accepted that failure was a part of living I became so much more excited to try new things and to stretch myself! So that's been a party :) And I learned something about failure and success last pday- we went hiking through a cave! And that is the first time I really experienced true darkness. The whole time into the cave all I could think about was how much further we were getting from the light... and how hard it would be to get out. Seriously yall, it was an intense...
