☆ happy reality ☆ Aug. 29, 2022

 Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great week! I can't believe it's Monday again, haha, but here we go!


This week we recieved some really sad news about one of our friends baptisms- it won't be going forward for the time being... We felt at peace with the decision, but we were heartbroken for her and her family! She wanted to be baptized more than anything. 

We got to talk with them this weekend and they had quite a few questions for us. They were a little confused and hurt, and they brought up hypothetical situations trying to show why this rule is not fair. As they talked I had a voice come to my mind that just said "hypotheticals do nothing when speaking about truth" 

Why waste time worrying about something less than reality?? There's already so much going on RIGHT NOW, we should focus on the truth that can be taught in this moment! 

As we continued to talk, I realized everything the Lord does is out of love for us. Every single thing! It may not always feel like that, but I know when we pray about it and look for the bigger picture we can find the happy reality of life!

I've always been a person that's tried to take the optimistic approach to life, but this week I realized that we need to look at reality, but do it in a hopeful way :)

In Moroni 9, Mormon explains the awful things he's witnessed going on in the world around him. I'm talking REALLY awful, probably nothing more evil than this. After he writes of the evil and darkness and despair he goes on, "My son, be faithful in Christ; and may not the things which I have written grieve thee, to weigh thee down unto death; but may Christ lift thee up, and may his sufferings and death, and the showing his body unto our fathers, and his mercy and long-suffering, and the hope of his glory and of eternal life, rest in your mind forever."

That's what it means to be happy with reality :) don't be blind to the bad, but choose to focus on the good! Look with hope, because even in the face of pure evil we have Jesus Christ. And that's all the hope we need.

  HI EVERYONE!!  This week was super good, other than the two times we got flashed :/ But it's okay, our neighbor has curtains now! But you wanna hear something crazy?? I was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago today. That blows my mind. It has been the shortest, craziest, hardest, longest, best year of my life. And I never want it to end. I can't even begin to describe the joy I have found in serving my Savior over the last year. I'm so grateful for the change that has come in this time.   Hey hey party people! Hope you had another amazing week! This week we did a lot of knocking! And one day the craziest thing happened... we looked back and saw a lady going door to door, warning all of her neighbors not to listen to us. It was crazy! I realized how hard Satan is working to oppose this work! But I also know that God is working harder :) With all the rejection in our finding, we've also seen some amazing miracles! We met a guy this week who was SO prepared for the gospel! He was raised in a very strong faith, but he doesn't have a Christian background. What we taught him about the Book of Mormon opened his mind to Jesus Christ and it was so amazing! I'm so thankful God let me see that miracle! I've felt a LOT of opposition in this area, but I've also seen some amazing miracles. I've felt strength beyond my own pushing me forward when it's hard. HI I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY! March 21, 2022

  Hey everyone! Fun fact, this is the third weekly email I have written today, and every single one of them has deleted. So if this one doesn't work I'm giving up, hahaha. But this week has been super good! We got to do a lot of knocking, with varying levels of success. The ones that don't work out are usually pretty exciting, though! We had a fully nude man come to the door and say "I'm neked! Fixin to take a bath! Come back later." It might be a little awkward to come back another time, but hey! I can be awkward for Jesus :) We met some other people while knocking who were SUPER interested! One lady had actually read the Book of Mormon before and she LOVED it! She literally jumped for joy, hahaha. Her and her sister came to church with us yesterday and it was an absolute party!! They brought a 2 year old with them, and there are definitely not that many kids in our branch... so people weren't quite sure how to respond to a little boy running up and down ...
