ISN'T IT SO COOL THAT WE KNOW ABOUT JESUS?! Mar 14, 2022

 You like that my titles have nothing to do with my emails?? Ya, me too, haha.


But great day in the morning, y'all!! I hope this week was fan-flipping-tastic!! It sure was for me :)

I am definitely getting used to life here in Peterstown West Virginia!! I finally (this morning) finished unpacking!! My companions were shocked when I continued to pull sweaters and books out of my suitcase, but what can I say? I'm just a packing WIZARD! (Actually, Sister Knoll and I are really just good at jumping on suitcases to make things fit, haha)

But anyway! We've met a bunch of super cool people this week! One guy we met is named "Smooth", or at least that's what he said his name was... He told us that the only thing keeping him alive was weed and moonshine! I tried to argue that it was really Jesus keeping him going every day, but he didn't agree with that answer. Oh well. He's still really nice, he even offered us some of his homemade moonshine, but we passed this time.

This area is honestly so cool! It's such a small branch, but everyone cares so much about the work!! They are all so involved in helping the missionaries, and they want to do everything they can to share the gospel!! We have, like, half the branch show up to our lessons, and they have the most amazing testimonies! I just sit back and watch the spirit fill the room as the words flow out of their mouths. 

Before I was a missionary I don't think I understood the power that my simple testimony held, but the lessons this week have shown me that God will help ANYONE share the gospel. When you share what you know and do it in a loving way, the spirit will show people that your words are true. It doesn't matter if it comes out flawless or if you stumble through every sentence. God can work with our imperfections :)

1 Corinthians 1:21 says "it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." I'm so glad to know that God can work a masterpeice even through my wonky looking, oddly tuned instrument, and I know that He can work through you as well!! You just need to have the courage to open your mouth :) 

I love yall so much, I can't even tell you!! I'm just sitting here smiling as I write this email! HOW AWESOME THAT WE KNOW WHO WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING!?! I am beyond grateful, and beyond grateful to share that knowledge! I really hope you share it too! Let me know if you need help with where to start :)

  HI EVERYONE!!  This week was super good, other than the two times we got flashed :/ But it's okay, our neighbor has curtains now! But you wanna hear something crazy?? I was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago today. That blows my mind. It has been the shortest, craziest, hardest, longest, best year of my life. And I never want it to end. I can't even begin to describe the joy I have found in serving my Savior over the last year. I'm so grateful for the change that has come in this time.   Hey hey party people! Hope you had another amazing week! This week we did a lot of knocking! And one day the craziest thing happened... we looked back and saw a lady going door to door, warning all of her neighbors not to listen to us. It was crazy! I realized how hard Satan is working to oppose this work! But I also know that God is working harder :) With all the rejection in our finding, we've also seen some amazing miracles! We met a guy this week who was SO prepared for the gospel! He was raised in a very strong faith, but he doesn't have a Christian background. What we taught him about the Book of Mormon opened his mind to Jesus Christ and it was so amazing! I'm so thankful God let me see that miracle! I've felt a LOT of opposition in this area, but I've also seen some amazing miracles. I've felt strength beyond my own pushing me forward when it's hard.   Hey yall!! Hope you're having an AMAZING day so far! And if it's not amazing yet then I hope you go change that :) You guys wanna know what my weekly goal was this week?? To FAIL!  And before you think I'm just giving up, hear me out real quick- I don't want to be controlled by a fear of failure!! I want to go forward with faith! And I want to ALWAYS try- even if I fail the first couple times :) And yall, I did so good at this goal! The week was full of MANY fails, hahaha. But for real, as soon as I accepted that failure was a part of living I became so much more excited to try new things and to stretch myself! So that's been a party :) And I learned something about failure and success last pday- we went hiking through a cave! And that is the first time I really experienced true darkness. The whole time into the cave all I could think about was how much further we were getting from the light... and how hard it would be to get out. Seriously yall, it was an intense...
